What is Stake?
Stake is a platform that empowers tenants to be wealthier and happier. We partner with your community to offer monthly cash-back rewards on your rent and a full suite of free banking services.

What is my cash-back offer?
You earn cash-back rewards automatically in the Stake app each month when you pay your rent on time. You can transfer your cash-back rewards to your bank account or Venmo at no charge.


What do I get with Stake?

How to Use Stake:
1.) Download the Stake.rent app at stakerent.com/login
2.) Login to the app with your phone number or email address.
3.) Connect your bank account to the app under ‘connected accounts’. 
4.) Sign up for Stake Visa® Debit and earn Cash Back instantly when you pay rent. You can also apply for the Virtual Card right in the app. 
5.) Transfer funds to your Stake account to cover rent. 
6.) Add Stake as a payment method in your resident portal by either adding Stake as a checking account (e-check) or by adding the Stake Visa debit card. 
7.) Submit your rent payment in your resident portal. Claim your Cash Back!

Why is my community offering Stake?

Rental properties lose money when tenants don’t pay on time or choose to live elsewhere. They partnered with Stake to reward you for paying rent on time each month.

Why does Stake do this? What’s in it for Stake?
Our goal is to help tenants save, build wealth, and love where they live. That’s it. We hope that the cash back you earn on rent in your Stake-offered property can be used in ways that make your life a bit easier.

How do I login to my Stake account?
You can access your Stake account by both logging in via the Stake.rent app on your mobile device or through the Stake website: https://app.stake.rent/login

How do I transfer money to my bank account? 
1.) Login to Stake at stakerent.com/login.  
2.) Go to ‘Connected Accounts’ on the banking screen and connect your bank account through Plaid.
3.) Click ‘Cash Out’
4.) Enter the amount you would like to transfer, and click ‘Transfer’. You will receive your funds within 1-3 bizz days. 

How do I add funds to my Stake account?
1.) Login to Stake at stakerent.com/login
2.) Click on ‘Add Cash’ 
3.) Enter the amount you would like to add to your Stake account, and hit ‘Transfer’. You will receive your funds within 1-3 bizz days. Stake also offers an instant transfer option from card to card, and you can also instant transfer funds through Astra from the same screen in the app. 

Do I pay my rent through the Stake app?
You pay rent in your resident portal as normal, with your Stake account information not through the Stake app directly. You can use your Stake Visa Debit card to pay rent through your resident portal, or via ‘e-check’ with your Stake account and routing number. To ensure you have enough money on your Stake Visa Debit card to pay rent, be sure to add funds by connecting your bank within the app.

How do I add Stake as a payment method in my resident portal? 
Login to your resident portal as normal. Select ‘payment methods’ and click ‘add new payment method’. Add Stake as a checking account via e-check with your Stake account and routing number or add the Stake Visa debit card as a ‘Visa’ option and enter the card details. Confirm you see the new payment method listed in your resident portal. 

What is Credit Builder?
Stake offers Credit Builder for free and you can opt into this at anytime under the ‘renting’ tab. Stake reaports on time payments to the credit bureaus to help boost your credit score. Stake would never negatively impact your credit score, so for example, if you were ever to pay rent late with Stake we would not report this.

How do you know if I paid rent on time?

Your property manager will let us know that you’ve paid on time so that you are eligible for the Cash Back!

Where can I use my Stake Visa Debit Card?

You are able to use your Stake Visa debit card anywhere Visa is accepted and you will automatically earn 1% Cash Back on everyday purchases. 

How can I request that my data be deleted?
Stake maintains industry standard data deletion processes. Please send an email to hello@stake.rent with subject line "Stake Data Deletion Request - <Your Name>" to request that your data be deleted.
